⚠️ Namecheap - Very Poor Customer Experience I had a terrible experience with Namecheap after trying to cancel an auto-renewal. Despite sending a cancellation request in advance, they failed to honor it and still charged me. When I disputed the charge through my bank, they hit me with a $15 “chargeback fee” and repeatedly blamed me for not sending a “confirmation of my cancellation email”—something they never clearly stated was needed. Their responses were robotic, dismissive, and kept pushing me to drop the dispute with my bank. I’ve filed a BBB complaint and will never use their services again. If you’re looking for reliable hosting or domain services, I suggest going elsewhere. ✅ Lesson: Don’t ignore customer cancellation requests. Don’t charge fees for your own mistakes. And don’t hide behind vague policies to avoid accountability.

WARNING ⛔️ Do Not Use Namecheap Hosting Service I am thoroughly frustrated and downright exasperated with Namecheap and their horrible service. Today I spent nearly an hour chatting with customer service. What I thought would be a smooth process to create a CNAME record for a new AI integration turned into a nightmare! The rep provided detailed instructions, and I was confident I had followed them correctly. She clearly outlined what to do in the chat: create a new CNAME record and delete three others I supposedly didn’t need. She confirmed she could see my changes and that everything was done correctly. She said my site could take up to 30 minutes to replicate. I trusted her word and went on about my day. At 12 AM the next morning, I was horrified to find half my website missing! External links now led to blank error pages. Nothing was working right. I logged out, then back in—it was hit or miss getting onto the site. I even used a brand-new browser on my iPad, and still, my website was gone! I’m so unhappy with Namecheap. I have two accounts with them for two domains, each with its own email—one using “c-Panel” and the other using “Private Email.” Both emails have ongoing issues that support has failed to resolve. For example, I didn’t receive emails in my private email account for over three months! Though it was eventually fixed, it took three weeks and no one could explain why. Consequently, I lost several thousand dollars in grant funding for my startup business because I missed critical emails from companies that needed to connect with me through my business email. Other nightmares include payment processing issues on various à la carte services during my annual membership. It’s incredibly inconvenient to be nickeled & dimed every 30–60 days. Why not bundle selected services and bill once with a full breakdown? Just one issue after another. I’m fed up and WILL NOT renew. I can’t, in good conscience, recommend Namecheap to anyone. A total waste of time and money!

Ok so for domains they were ok until few years ago. Now they are expensive like others, don't have promo codes and only try to take as much money as they can from people. Regarding hosting, I paid yesterday for their "Universe Pro" reseller hosting and in the meantime the situation changed so i didn't need that hosting anymore. On their website it says 30 days money back guarantee and they didn't want to refund 50 Euros to me because sometimes in the past i have already canceled some hosting package??? What kind of madness could this be? Really awfull. It is now and never again. I will avoid them for domains, hosting or anything else. I am so mad that after 15 years someone puts a hand in my pocket and steals 50 euros for absolutely nothing. This is redicilous. They might get some money from the people that do not have much experience, but not from me. I wish you all the Best Naecheap.

I’m very disappointed with this hosting company. They abruptly suspended my hosting account, initially due to what appears to be a security issue on their own server. Now, they're claiming the suspension was caused by excessive requests from one of my domains. Despite purchasing a new hosting plan elsewhere to migrate my websites, they are refusing to unsuspend my account, even temporarily, so I can access and move my files. This level of incompetence and lack of support is unacceptable. I strongly advise others to be cautious and consider more reliable hosting providers.

I don’t understand all of the negative reviews (except maybe one valid complaint)! - Namecheap support is AMAZING, kind and caring - they have saved me so many times when in need to troubleshoot problems with EasyWP and they were even able to restore my website after my autopay was tied to an expired card and the grace period had expired. I am so grateful for their expertise. My only complaint is that they have essentially rebranded as Spaceship which offers the exact same platforms and hosting services (plus a cool Spacemail interface) but for way less. So I am not looking forward to migrating as I worry my data will get lost, however Namecheap has been consistently reliable and trustworthy. Excellent live chat support, which is why I give them a well deserved 5 stars.

I have received my domain name. I was on vacation but will now use my domain name and build my website. When I had questions I got help and support from Namecheap. So far I am happy with the service they have provided.

Namecheap: Where "cheap" might include surprise fees they won't justify, followed by holding your own domain hostage until you pay. Protect your wallet and your web presence - Choose a registrar that values, transparency, accountability, and your trust. With namecheap the only thing cheap might be their excuses.
